This picture shows Noel and Marian Kelly, who travelled from Ireland, Marian's uncle was Ordinary Telegraphist John Joseph Furlong P/SSX 25720. John Joseph Furlong was the son of William & Margaret Furlong, he was only 20 years old when he was lost.

The Memorial is now completely finished, but won't be dedictaed until October.
On Wednesday 25th May Mr Tom Vennell visited the wreck site, with two friends, to see the place where his father George F Vennell survived the sinking of H.M.S Royal Oak. Tom was born in 1940, if his father had been lost he would never been born. George passed away when Tom was 8 years old.
